In this week's SA Artist Spotlight, we're featuring Go Barefoot:

If someone asked me to create a ‘local is lekker’ album for South Africa, then Go Barefoot band and their music would be top of my list. This funky and super fun sounding band creates music that makes you happy to be from South Africa. Their experience is heard through their lyrics and are perfectly matched with quirky tunes. Whether you are wanting to dance on a rooftop building in the middle of Johannesburg city, or just take a calm walk in the park, they have options on their EP titled ‘Routes’. A catchy favourite on this EP is called ‘Johannesburg’ and it is so catchy, spunky and well written it would take any Capetonian away from the sea and on a plane to ‘walk in the middle of the road’ in Johannesburg. Last year this band also found themselves playing at Oppikoppi. Have a squizz at their Facebook page to stay updated with tour/concert dates.
