As the country marks almost a full year of CoVid19 restrictions and lockdowns, many student organisations have had to adapt to unprecedented ways of working remotely. One such organisation is UCT Radio, broadcasting daily from the homes of 30 of its freshest deejays via the latest in media technology and software.
Instead of broadcasting live from its studios, UCT Radio presenters have embraced the 4th Industrial Revolution, turning bedrooms, bathrooms, and garages into recording booths.
And now in 2021, UCT Radio is again fully prepared to fulfil its mission to recruit, train and skill new members for a career in media and entertainment. This year all training will be conducted online, with managers available via Vula and WhatsApp to answer all your questions. We’ll teach you all the basics of radio; including presenting, news reading, interviewing techniques and how to effectively use social media to build your brand. At the end of it all, the best will be selected to present live on-air, a great start in building your career as a broadcaster.
So, if you’ve ever dreamed of being on radio or tv, interviewing celebs and experts, or just need to improve your public speaking skills and confidence, join UCT Radio now! Listen live by downloading our app in the Playstore or by connecting via www.radio.uct.ac.za/live. Check out our social media pages Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more info on well-known alumni, the latest music and celeb interviews, cool competitions, and everything you need to know about UCT campus culture.
